Having a child with a BRFB is one of the hardest things a parent can experience. This workshop will assist participants in understanding and navigating through the educational process for children with BFRB's.
Specific objectives that will be covered in this session are as follows:
- To describe the unique perspective of being both a parent of a child with a BFRB and also the Director of Special Education in a school district.
- To explain the different options for educational support in a school setting for children with BFRB's.
- To compare the special education and 504 process, specifically related to BFRB's.
- To discuss the legal obligations of meeting each child's unique educational needs specific to BFRB's.
