Christopher Pepe

In addition to the attached bio, I would add that I have lived with trich for over 30 years. I started pulling in high school. Arguably an overachiever to a fault, I kept myself so busy that, with a little luck, I wouldn't have time to pull too much. Over the years, my pulling would increase and decrease with little direct correlation to anything I could definitively figure out. Trich's true origin is still a mystery to the scientific world, but I have to believe mine stems from my mother's battle with breast cancer which started when I was just 7 years old. I believe the battle she was fighting created unnoticeable anxiety in me that manifested itself as Trich. A safe and silent outlet for my worst fears and my built up anxiety. As an Italian-American family, we had loud and boisterous dinner conversations, but never about serious topics. Cancer was never discussed, and the battle continued. For 40 years. Until last year. When it was too late to share this most intimate detail about me with her. So I shared it with the world instead . . . .
